We have a final! The reserves are better than Ząbkovia
Polonia II Warszawa triumphed over Ząbkovia Ząbki 4:3 in an exciting match that ended with a penalty shootout, securing a spot in the final of the Okręgowy Puchar Polski.
Damian Falkowski’s team took the lead in the 20th minute with a goal from Mateusz Muszyński. The 30-year-old striker outsmarted the goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation and sent the ball into the net. In the following minutes, both teams tried to threaten each other’s goal, but key moments lacked precision in finishing the created chances. Polonia II Warszawa had the upper hand, yet failed to score again, and the teams went into halftime with a score of 1:0.
The second half saw our team quickly concede a goal, but this did not negatively affect the players’ performance in the match. The best opportunity to regain the lead came in the 54th minute when the referee awarded a penalty for a foul on one of our players. Jewhen Radionow stepped up to take the shot, but the guest goalkeeper managed to save it.
Regulation time ended in a 1:1 draw, leading the referee to call for a penalty shootout, as per competition rules. In the shootout, Polonia II Warszawa performed better, and the so-called “battle of nerves” ended in our victory 4:3.
In the final of the Okręgowy Puchar Polski, we will face the winner of the match between Madziar Nieporęt and Mazur Karczew
