At #K6 with Miedź Legnica

In the fifth round of Betclic 1. Liga we will play against Miedź Legnica in front of our home crowd. The referee’s first whistle is scheduled for Saturday (August 17) at 2:30 p.m. Check what you need to know about the Miedzianki team before this meeting.

Miedź Legnica is currently the 7th team in the first league, which has collected seven points in four matches played. This season, Ireneusz Mamrot’s team is doing much better in home matches, in which they have not yet tasted defeat. Miedzianka defeated at the stadium. Orzeł Biały, the newcomer, Stal Stalowa Wola (4:2) and the relegated team from the Ekstraklasa, Łódź Sports Club (1:0). However, the team from Lower Silesia is doing worse on trips (a draw with GKS Tychy 2:2 and a defeat against Stal Rzeszów 0:1).

In the summer, our closest rival saw several personnel changes in the first team. The green-blue-red team was left by, among others: Andrzej Niewulis, Jurich Carolina, Ruben Hoogenhout and Emmanuel Agbor. In total, Miedź said goodbye to 12 players and replaced them with 15 new ones, including several with experience at the Ekstraklasa level. They include, among others: Jacek Podgórski, Juliusz Letniowski, Bartosz Kwiecień, Bartosz Bida, Jakub Wrąbel and the Spaniard Chuca, who in the past represented Miedź Legnica and Wisła Kraków.

This week, the future of one of the heroes of the last transfer saga, Wiktor Bogacz, was also clarified. The 20-year-old striker received a transfer offer to the American New York Red Bulls, which he ultimately did not agree to.

– I’m sure many may consider it a sign of recklessness, because you don’t throw away such opportunities, but I think it’s simply too early for this trip. I feel very good in Legnica, I am grateful to the club for the opportunity I got here – Wiktor Bogacz justified his decision.

Last season, we had to admit Miedź’s superiority twice. At home, after an emotional match, we lost 3:4. The trip to Legnica ended with our defeat 1:2. Now Grzegorz Lech’s players will do everything to take revenge on the visitors for the last two defeats! Your support and warm cheering may prove invaluable!
