  • We lose to Wisła in Płock – the result was decided by the second half
Publication date: 05.10.2024

Mariusz Pawlak’s team arrived in Płock weakened by the suspension of Bartłomiej Poczobut. Dani Vega, Mateusz Kuchta, Szymon Kobusiński and Souleymanne Cisse are still struggling with health problems.

The beginning of the Capital City Pride was very promising. The Polish players were gaining more and more advantage with each passing minute. This resulted in a goal scored by Łukasz Zjawiński in the 8th minute. First, Ernest Terpiłowski received the ball on the right wing and passed it through to our striker. He slid the ball into Gostomski’s goal. This is Łukasz’s 4th goal for the Black Shirts. The hosts responded in the 28th minute. Fabian Hiszpański finished the action on the left side with a shot from around 16 meters. In the rest of the first half we observed an even match with the emphasis on Polonia.

The second half started very badly for Polonia. Jakub Lemanowicz sent a throw-in into our penalty area and, according to the referee, fouled Wisła’s striker – Łukasz Sekulski. The eleventh goal was made by the injured player himself and the hosts took the lead in this match. From that moment on, it must be admitted that it was mainly Wisła players who had the say. Just over 10 minutes later, the hosts’ captain Sekulski was on the scoresheet again and Wisła was ahead by two goals. In the following minutes, the Oilers controlled the course of the match, Polonia focused on counterattacks and fought to get to their rival until the end. However, this did not happen and the hosts finished the match. In the 82nd minute, Jorge Jimenez scored the fourth goal for Wisła. The result did not change until the end – Polonia had to acknowledge the superiority of their rival and this time return to Warsaw without scoring any points.

The next match due to the international break will be played on October 20 (Sunday) at 12:00 against GKS Tychy. Tickets for this match are now on sale. We invite everyone to K6! TICKETS
