First team
We are playing an away match against Chrobry
In the 8th round of the Betclic 1st League, the Pride of the Capital, led by their new head coach Mariusz Pawlak, will play an away match against Chrobry Głogów. The match kicks off at 8:30 PM. Here’s what you need to know before the game.
Chrobry Głogów is currently the 14th team in the first league, having collected five points in seven matches. Piotr Plewnia’s team has won just once so far. In the first round, Chrobry won 2-1 away against Pogoń Siedlce, with goals from Sebastian Bonecki and Szymon Bartlewicz. Since then, the team from Lower Silesia has drawn twice and suffered four losses. Their goal difference stands at five goals scored and fourteen conceded.
“A tough opponent for sure, especially since they will be playing at home. They will try to exploit our weaknesses. I won’t talk about our opponent’s weaknesses right now, but we are preparing a certain plan for this match. We need to go not just with faith, but with conviction. Every player who gets on the bus must be convinced that we will execute our plan in the best possible way,” said coach Mariusz Pawlak at the pre-match press conference, which you can watch HERE.
The referee for Friday’s match against Chrobry will be Leszek Lewandowski from Zabrze, who has officiated two previous games involving the Black Shirts. In those matches, he showed a total of nine yellow cards and awarded one penalty kick.
Polonia Warszawa 1:1 Odra Opole (19.05.2024)
Wisła Kraków 2:1 Polonia Warszawa (17.12.2023)
Assisting him on the lines will be Damian Rokosz and Daniel Wiejowski, while the fourth official will be Aleksander Borowiak. The VAR system for Friday evening will be handled by Karol Arys and Marek Arys.
Last season, Głogów was a lucky ground for us. Nearly 12 months ago, we won there 3-0 with goals from Mateusz Michalski, Szymon Kobusiński, and Paweł Tomczyk. At home, we drew 1-1, with Xabi Auzmendi scoring. Three points earned on Friday evening in Głogów will allow us to overtake Chrobry in the league table. Our players, under the guidance of new coach Mariusz Pawlak, will do everything to make that happen!
You can watch the away match against Chrobry at the Czarna Koszula Sports Bar from 8:30 PM! We warmly invite you to join us.
