Victory of Polonia Warszawa on the end of the year
We have successfully completed the football season in 2024. The Pride of the Capital, led by coach Mariusz Pawlak, defeated Wisła Kraków 2-0 at Konwiktorska 6.
The first goal of the match was seen by fans gathered at the stadium and in front of their TVs in the 26th minute. After a corner kick by Bartłomiej Poczobut, the ball was headed into the net by Michał Kołodziejski, who won the duel in the air and with a header gave the goalkeeper no chance to effectively intervene.
– When the goal was 1-0, the ball was supposed to go to Łukasz Zjawiński, but he and Michał Kołodziejski decided on the pitch that they would exchange spaces to fill and Koło made great use of the situation – admitted coach Grzegorz Lech at the post-match press conference.
Just before the end of the first half, Łukasz Zjawiński increased our team’s lead. Dani Vega passed the ball to Bartłomiej Poczobut. He then ran into the penalty area and crossed the ball perfectly to Zjawa, who headed it into the goal without any major problems. It was Łukasz’s tenth goal this season.
After the break, both teams had their chances to score. Despite this, we didn’t see any more goals and the match ended with a score of 2:0 for the Pride of the Capital. In the space of just three days, we managed to beat the White Star twice and spend the upcoming winter break in good spirits.
We would also like to thank all the fans for their support of our team over the last 12 months and we will see you in the spring at Konwiktorska 6! See you there!
