Rafał Smalec leaves Polonia. Coach, thank you!
Rafał Smalec ceased to be the first coach of Polonia Warszawa. The contract with the trainer was terminated by mutual consent of the parties.
Rafał Smalec took over at Polonia Warsaw in July 2021. Under his leadership, the Capital City Pride won two promotions in a row, and the matches against Legionovia, Wissa Szczuczyn, Olimpia Elbląg and Motor Lublin will remain in the fans’ memories forever. Coach Smalec led our team in a total of 114 official matches, recording 56 victories, 26 draws and 32 defeats. The goal balance is 192 goals scored and 131 goals conceded. Through his work, coach Smalec restored Polonia’s former glory, bringing our Club to the back of the PKO BP Ekstraklasa.
The duties of the Black Shirts’ first coach were temporarily taken over by assistant Grzegorz Lech. Currently, the club is actively looking for a new coach for the first team.
Coach, thank you for your contribution to the sports reconstruction of Polonia, your daily commitment and many beautiful moments and memories. Thank you for two promotions and fruitful cooperation, not only in the sports field.
We wish you good luck in your further career. The stadium at Konwiktorska 6 will always be open to the coach!
See you on the football trail!
